Q: How do I change the color of the temperature icon in my system tray?

A: Right mouse click on the temperature icon in your system tray and select the "Preferences" option from the menu. This will launch the WhenU WeatherCast preferences page where you will be able to select an icon color for the temperature.

Q: How do I change the weather measurements I see in my current conditions and 5 day forecast?

A: Right mouse click on the temperature icon in your system tray and select the "Preferences" option from the menu. This will launch the WhenU WeatherCast preferences page where you will be able to choose between U.S. weather measurements or Metric weather measurements for the rest of the world.

Q: How do I set my home/alternate weather location?

A: To set your home/alternate weather location, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the temperature icon. (It will be a lightning bolt icon if no location has previously been set or if you are not currently connected to the internet.)
2. Select the Modify option from the menu.
3. Select home or alternate location from the left column by clicking the respective “Change” button. If it is selected, it will be in bold.
4. If you are located in the United States, enter zip code or state (and city on next page). If you are located outside of the United States, select a country (and city on next page).

Q: How do I toggle between my home and alternate weather?

A: You may easily toggle between home and alternate location by selecting the desired location of interest from the Main page.

Q: Why is there a lightning bolt in my system tray instead of my local temperature?

A: This can occur for two reasons:

1. Check that you are connected to the Internet. If you are not, WhenU WeatherCast will display a lightning bolt icon in your system tray. Once you connect to the Internet, your local temperature will appear.
2. Occasionally, the local weather station in your area might not report any weather conditions. If they do not report new data for over an hour, your system tray icon will change to the lightning bolt. Once your weather station reports new weather conditions, your system tray icon will revert back to your temperature.

Q: How often is the weather updated?

A: Your local temperature and current conditions are updated every half an hour. The 5-day forecast is updated twice a day.

Q: How do I print my local weather conditions?

A: Simply click the print button on the WhenU WeatherCast menu bar when you are viewing your current forecast. This will launch a print box. Please make sure that you select the option to print "Only the selected frame".
